Other Blog

Hey there! As you've noticed, I haven't been posting in this blog lately. That's because I have another blog! Here's the link: http://imanadeleon.tumblr.com/
That blog is my very first fashion blog and you'll see that I update that one more often than this one. So if you're curious about what's been happening lately to me and what kind of style I have, then go on and click the link above.
I'm not sure if I'll still keep this one because I know for sure that I won't be updating this one in the near future. But for times keepsake, I think I'll let this be and let's just see what would happen in the future.

My First Converse

I have great news!!! Waaah!!! Ok, before I tell you about the good news, let me tell you first how i started my day. Well, today was such a disaster (or so i thought)! I woke up at 7:20am when I'm suppose to wake up at 6  'cuz I have to prepare for church. Originally, I didn't need to wake up that early since church starts at 9 but because I always take a long time preparing that's why I needed to wake up that early. Ok. So I woke up late today and so my schedule was a mess. I had to hurry up and that caused me much delay. Why? Because whenever I'm hurrying I can't put together a proper outfit. So I had to change 3 times and yet I still wasn't satisfies until it was already time to go. I went out with a messy hair and a very fail outfit! To top it all, we had to commute because my dad isn't here and the weather was so damn hot! When I got to church, I was all sweaty and icky. I tried fixing everything in the CR but  I couldn't do much do the whole time I was grumbling and whining at my friend. Then after church we went to SM Centerpoint. That time, my mood was much better already so I happily went along with my mother, 2 shotis and my lil' cousin. After eating, we did some shopping and here enters my good news. My mother bought me my first ever Converse! I was so happy that I found a great pair that I really like! And that's how my mood lifted up. Here's a pic of my new Converse:

You must be wondering why that was my first pair. Well, to be honest I'm not a fan of rubber shoes. For me, rubber shoes are just for sports and they look weird for me when worn somewhere that doesn't relate to sports. I don't have a rubber shoes of my own since I don't really need one because I don't have PE class so whenever I really need to use one, I just borrow my mom's pair. Now, I decided to have my own because there's a slight chance that I might have to stop attending dancing class and attend PE instead. Still, I didn't want to use my mom's Sketchers cuz' I don't like how it looks when I wear them w/ my PE uniform so I chose Converse instead. And I never thought that I would like them this much! I'm going crazy! For sure in the next few weeks, you'll see me wearing them when going out. Haha I'm currently thinking of possible outfits for them already! So crazy... Well, that's my good news. I'll probably get my 2nd pair soon and I'm going to buy them using my own money. Hehe

HEADBANGERS

You saw the title. Yep. These sure did banged my head that i got addicted to them again. What am i talking about? Heh. I'm talking about: HEADBANDS! After a long time, i got addicted to it again after cutting my own bangs. Yep. I cut my own hair. That was an achievement for me! You see, I treasure my hair so much so i had a hard time deciding whether to go to a salon or just cut my own hair. If I went to a salon, chances are they'll give me another weird bangs (that usually happens to me) but if i cut my own hair I wouldn't have anyone but me to blame when i failed. Hence the risk, I went for the cutting-my-own-hair decision and surprisingly, it went well! Here's a pic of my new bangs:

sorry for the poor quality...i'll make it up to you later. Let's go back to the title. So yup, I got addicted to headbands again and here are my pics wearing some of my headbands:

ok...nevermind this one. Obviously, you couldn't see the headband.

And here's me wearing my first ever long feather earring. To be honest, i just made that...i was just playing around with an old dangling earring of mine that i just found yesterday and a hairband with a couple of dangling feathers. I thought, why not take the feathers off and connect it to the earring 'cuz the hairband looked weird w/ it. So there! That's how i made that earring. Cute noh? This someday I'm going to go for a  bohemian vibe. It'll be a fresh look for me 'cuz i always look somewhat ladylike whenever i go to church. My classmates in Sunday School must've gotten tired of my usual look so why not try a different one, right? Well, that'll be all. Uhm...I just posted 3 of my headbands, one of them is a fail though. I still have four more so i'll try to post those too. Hopefully, I would be able to keep my promise this time.

SOFA Open House

Today was just wonderful! I went to SoFA's Open House today and I've had a blast! Finally I've seen what my dream school looks like! Hehe... Yah. I'm going to take Fashion Design in college. I've been thinking about this for three years now (since 1st yr) and I finally decided that that's really it. Now what's left for me is to persuade my dad. It's a little bit hard but I'll manage. After all, it's for my future. Anyways, SoFA's facilities were cool. I got to see their design studio and started craving for their sewing machines. And guess what, I saw Amina Aranaz (owner of ARANAZ bags) and Danilo Franco (just the best fashion illustrator in the country!) in SoFA! How cool is that? Really wow! When Amina entered the room, all eyes were on her. And the people who really knows her were all giddy. There was this one guy who I thought were really going to stand up and walk up to her to shake her hands. haha he was so funny! Back to the topic. *ahem. Sorry. My words were all messed up so let me organize it for you.
First, they talked about the school. Well, School of Fashion and the Arts is The Phil's first specialized fashion college offering a full range of extensive and short programs in design, merchandising and business. Phil. Rep of Europe's leading design school, Istituto Marangoni Partner of Project Runway Philippines 1 & 2.  Last night I researched Instituto Marangoni and I found out that it's #7 among the top fashion school in the whole world! hehe just a little boost...
Ok. They also talked about how their curriculum works. Amina gave a brief explanation on some of the lessons they teach. My favorite was the one about Fashion Illustration. She said that you don't need to be an expert in drawing in order to become a fashion designer 'cuz when you enroll there, they're going to teach you the basics all the way to the difficult parts. She also mentioned a SoFA student interning w/ her whom she asked to design an embroidery design for one of her bags. Then this girl told her that she were laughing at her mom when she showed her the design Amina chose because she used to be bad at drawing but after studying in SoFA  she got the hang of it and even got to design a embroidery design for Amina's bag. Ok. Then after that, we had an open forum. I was reluctant to asked questions because aside from the fact that my mom and I arrived late, we were seated in front beside the speaker's table. Good thing some of the people asked the questions that I wanted to asked so everything was covered. After that, they gave away the list of the rates and some fliers. Then we proceeded to the tour. That's how I got to see Danilo Franco! He was overseeing a couple of students who were working on their projects. Watching them was inspirational! I imagined myself in the future in their place stitching away and it was so nostalgic (is it the right word?). I really can't wait to become a SoFA student!

If you want to get to know SoFA a bit more then check out their website at www.sofamanila.com. They also have a facebook account and page: http://www.facebook.com/SoFAcollege (page) http://www.facebook.com/sofa.manila (account)

P.S. I took pictures but somehow I couldn't find them. I'll look again and post them here next time.

Love lots!

Jane by Design

I'm currently watching this show: Jane by Design and I'm totally digging it! Starring Erica Dasher as Jane Quimby. It's about a teenage girl who lives a double life. One of high school and one of high fashion. She landed a job at a hip retail company called DonovanDecker where she was mistaken for an adult. She finds herself juggling both life as a regular high school girl and an assistant to a high powered executive in the said company.
The series is so amazing! It helped me know what goes on in the fashion industry and the life of a designer. hehe this is really perfect for a girl like me who's aiming for a fashion career. If you're still not convince then why don't you watch it yourself. Click here to watch http://watchseries.eu/serie/jane_by_design.

A Whole New Me

Hey there! Since it's a new year (I know it's already MArch but allow me to say this) and June 2012 would be the last year of my high school life (Hello college!!!!) i would like to upgrade my blog into a much more mature one. And since I'm going to take up a fashion career, I'm going to turn this blog into a fashion blog!!! I'm going to be serious this time. I promise. Though i know that creating a new blog is really tempting right now but i decided to keep this one. In the future, I would like to look at my previous posts and see how I've improved in the past years. And that'll be all...
